From 1998 to Present...
Our story began in Meriç, a small village in Cyprus!
Starting with a team of 10, we fermented our first halloumi with 2,000 liters of milk collected from nearby farms.
Today, at our MERİÇ facility with a closed area of 3,500 m2 and a daily milk processing capacity of 100,000 liters, our halloumi and cheese varieties, produced with original recipes, are exported to countries including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Qatar, the USA, and Japan.
To maintain that unique taste and consistently deliver our products at the same quality, we upgraded our production and internationally accredited laboratories in line with technological advancements and standards. In 2018, we received the BRC Certification Grade A, one of the world's top food certifications. Expanding our national and international efforts, in 2021, we launched the Charcuterie concept project in Nicosia, focusing on the sale of Meriç products as well as boutique and gourmet products sourced from local producers, including ethnic flavors, homemade jams, honey, and olive oil. Moreover, to become a more integrated production plant, we implemented the Mesaoria Farm Project in 2022. We created an environmentally friendly and modern farm facility with a capacity for 500 cattle.
Next to our dairy products manufacturing business, in 2004, under the AVUNDUK Group, we established Akinoks Professional Kitchen Equipment, representing world-leading brands such as Kristal Industrial, Galeri Kristal, Kristal Cooling, Kristal Open Buffet, Hobart, Winterhalter, La Cimbali, and Scotsman Ice Systems. In 2022, Akinoks also began manufacturing stainless steel industrial kitchen products. With the collaboration of the first and second generations in 2019, we strengthened our commitment to innovation, institutionalization, and sustainability. Taking the first step towards a more sustainable business, we started using solar panels, meeting 65% of our production line's electricity needs.
Last but not least, our growth journey has continued with the Old Bazaar Concept Duty-Free Store at Ercan Airport (the only airport of Northern Cyprus). We became the exclusive supplier for the Old Bazaar store at Ercan Airport Kaner Duty-Free.
We brought our Mesaoria Farm project to life as an environmentally friendly and modern facility. By establishing an infrastructure capable of producing raw milk with a capacity for 500 large cattle, we initiated raw milk production with 150 large dairy cattle.
